Methylation-specific PCR (MSP) requires DNA that has been treated with sodium bisulfite as the template. This modification process necessitates the use of both unmethylated and methylated DNA as controls.

The genomic DNA used in this product is derived from the human HCT116 DKO cell line.

The methylated DNA included in this product is prepared by enzymatic methylation of human genomic DNA and appears as a single band upon electrophoresis.

The unmethylated DNA is generated by using the methylated DNA as a template, followed by multiple rounds of nested whole genome amplification (WGA) and subsequent purification, resulting in the original methylation sites being highly diluted.

This product is mainly used for the detection and optimization of methylation-specific primers.
