Soy peptone is a enzyme digest of defatted soybean meal. It is used in culture media for the cultivation of a wide variety of microorganisms including bacteria and fungi. It is an excellent source of vitamins and carbohydrates.

Most organisms will grow rapidly in this peptone but some bacteria will produce high levels of acid leading to auto-sterilisation unless an adequate buffering system is incorporated.

Store at RT, avoid direct sunlight. 
Once opened keep powdered medium closed to avoid hydration.
