Suitable for SDS-PAGE, Size Exclusion Chromatography, FuncS
Concentration: 5U/uL
TEV protease is a highly sequence-specific cysteine protease from the Tobacco Etch Virus. It is widely used in molecular biology and biotechnology to remove affinity tags (like His-tags or GST) from recombinant fusion proteins after purification, as it rarely causes non-specific cleavage.
It highly specifically recognizes and cleaves the 7-amino-acid consensus sequence Glu-Asn-Leu-Tyr-Phe-Gln-(Gly/Ser). The cleavage always occurs exactly between the Gln (Q) and Gly/Ser residues.
Our TEV proteases include His-tag sequence, allowing researchers to easily remove the enzyme from the reaction mixture after cleavage.
